AI: mediocre manager against smart employees. Responsibilities: goals, plans, control (!), aid (discussed, possibly shifting). Увы: я ближе к AI..

https://youtu.be/IqYP25Oxjgs?si-AQyObKWQ9R2HgIOI Watch “How to Learn Anything After 50 (The “Pillar & Playground” Method)” on YouTube. Fluid intelligence (stops) vs crystallized intelligence (remains). Pillar & playground [I wonder about M-shape people, though.] Also: short bursts (reminds me pomodoro), journaling (yes!), anchoring to existing knowledge, unlearning old habits (crystallized is both + and -), 3 unrelated areas: pillars + playground(s)

https://youtu.be/qLh_IDLvrxs?si-H6MvbM149cdujnB- Watch “10 things to do instead of doomscrolling” on YouTube. Idea: replace over remove. 1. Research project. “You are using the internet, instead of the internet using you.” 2. Compulsive unlocking, hijacking the muscle memory. Replace bad with good. 3. Less harmful resources. 4. Undoom your digital env. E.g. dearrow for youtube. 5. List of inspiring content. 6. Replace core phone functions e.g. with analog. 7. Cleaning & audiobook vortex: audio + activities. 8. News w/o sensational headlines. 9. From recency to more time-proven content [Matthew Lindy, who observed that the longer a piece of media has been relevant, the longer it is likely to remain relevant (11:40 - 11:48)]. 10. Make stuff.

О ясности мышления (and also about concurrency) и контроле:

Recurring theme for clear thinking (Dijkstra et al.): control, self-control, intellectual self-control, emotional and habitual self-control, restricting oneself formally to free one’s mind, control over your own code, control over your project, control over your underlings and coworkers (to control your project), control over AI (to control your project). Control, control, control…

BTW, Peterson algorithm issue beats Dijkstra: you can prove it is correct, but it doesn’t work (wrong assumptions). The moral: doubt your assumptions (or, btw, The school in Carmarthen).

Work smarter, not harder etc.

Контроль как управление рисками. План А, план Б.

Deep Work vs Flow State:

https://youtu.be/tKkd6Zsz9gA?si-jkvbN_1jtZn4cNST Watch “MIT PhD taught me to unlock my brain’s “Sage Mode” - Deep Work (Full Summary)” on YouTube. Alex Dekora. Based on Cal Newport’s Deep Work.

Deliberate focus (with a lot of effort and rituals) [ ≠ zone/flow, which is free.]

In partiicular [extra stuff]: !! Embrace boredom. [This becomes repetitive..] ! 15 min plan for tomorrow.

And speaking of the zone…

https://youtu.be/a-hqlXaiUNE?si-xv3qfOeW7UknZhNT Watch “How to Enter the Flow State & Concentrate” on YouTube.

Well, now I think these two aren’t that different [whatever Cal Newport might say].. On the other hand people say: flow is your comfort zone, Deep Work is outside, and prepares/trains you for a larger comfort zone. Perhaps, Deep Work - training/serious/out of comfort zone. Getting into the Flow requires about the same preparation as Deep Work. Being in the Flow: easy/comfort zone. Perhaps.

Забавно:

https://youtu.be/mOTWIJIuGdE?si-UDSwx40ZeV3-_aXG Watch “Things That Take a Day to Learn But Make You Look Like a Genius” on YouTube. 10 skills: 1. Tying Five Essential Knots (0:00): Mastering the bowline, clove hitch, figure-8, sheet bend, and taut-line hitch (takes ~2 hours); 2. Sewing a Button and Hemming Pants (0:53): Basic clothing repairs that save money and time (takes ~15-30 minutes); 3. Basic Knife Skills (1:44): Learning professional cuts like the rock chop, julienne, and brunoise for efficiency in the kitchen (takes ~4 hours); 4. Speed Reading (2:37): Using techniques like chunking and eliminating subvocalization to double your reading speed (takes a few hours); 5. Mental Math (3:31): Memorizing shortcuts for calculations like multiplying by 11 or squaring numbers ending in 5 (takes ~1 day); 6. Reading Body Language (4:27): Recognizing gesture clusters to better interpret deception and social cues (takes ~1 session); 7. Basic Card Counting (5:21): Learning the High-Low system to understand probability (takes ~1 afternoon); 8. Identifying Constellations and Navigating (6:16): Learning to spot stars like the North Star and Orion to understand the night sky (takes ~4 hours); 9. Lock Picking (7:22): Understanding the fundamental mechanics of pin tumbler locks (takes ~30 seconds of practice once the concept is understood); 10.
